We have born in Guatemala, the country of the colour and friendly people. One of the Guatemalan symbols is the sacred bird Quetzal , shown at the right side. Guatemalan flag colours are blue-white-blue displayed in five stars representing the five Central American countries that once formed (We hope again in the new future) the Estados Unidos del Centro de America. For 25 years we made our home Venezuela, and as we also love it as much as our native country, we decided to incorporate symbols of that country on the left side. The colours of the flag (yellow-blue-red) and the 7 star from the Venezuelan national flag, representing the original provinces, all flowing from the abundance horn. On March 2000 we became immigrants in Canada and we are making this our new home. This is the country where our children and grand children will prosper and grow (We have now three,  lovely granddaughters Andrea Valentina and Amanda Isabel, and handsome little Javier Alejandro, we hope will be more). We have included the red maple leaf in the center as a symbol of Canada. The center is divided in diagonal; the left side is the traditional Spaniard heraldic of Vera and the right side after Quinonez. At the bottom the label reads in Cakchikel (one of the Maya languages spoken in Guatemala) "Jun elic cuan cat se in chol" meaning Only you live in my mind, as a symbol of the love that keep us together At the very right of the seal, appears our logo. It forms our family name Vera over three Maya glyphs The first is the symbol of the greatest Tikal ruler Ah Cacau, who lead the city to his greatest splendour 600 A.D. Circa, the second one is the representation of the K god also known as Caan Chac, that is frequently found in association with Ah Cacau's symbols meaning probably his celestial origin. The third one is the glyph emblem of Tikal. More information on Tikal can be found in one of the links at our home page.	Nacimos en Guatemala, la tierra del color y la gente amigable. Uno de sus simbolos patrios es el ave sagrada Quetzal que aparece en el costado derecho, rodeada de cinco estrellas. Las estrellas llevan los colores de la bandera, azul-blanco-azul, y representan tambien los cinco paises que formaron los Estados Unidos del Centro de America y que esperamos que en un futuro cercano encuentren de nuevo el camino de la union. Por 25 anos hicimos de Venezuela nuestra segunda patria, a la que amamos y recordamos tanto como nuestra Patria nativa. Por ello decidimos incorporar algunos de sus emblemas en nuestro escudo. Al costado izquierdo desde un cuerno de la abundancia brotan cintas con los colores de la bandera y las siete estrellas de las provincias originales y que tambien forman parte de la bandera Venezolana. En Marzo del 2000 llegamos como inmigrantes al Canada y estamos tratando de hacerla nuestro hogar. Este sera el pais donde nuestros hijos y nietos creceran y prosperaran (Ahora  tenemos tres nietos, dos bellisimas ninnias, Andrea Valentina y Amanda Isabel, y un elegantisimo caballero Javier Alejandro,  seguramente vendran mas). Por ello hemos incluido la hoja de arce rojo en el medio como simbolo Canadiense. Al centro dividida diagonalmente se encuentran las representaciones emblematicas espannolas de los apellidos Vera y Quinnonez. Al pie se lee en Cakchikel (Uno de los idiomas Mayas de Guatemala) "Jun elic cuan cat se in chol" que pudiera traducirse como "Unicamente vives en mi mente" en alusion al amor que nos mantiene unidos. A la derecha del escudo se encuentra nuestro logo, formado por la palabra Vera estilizada sobre tres glifos Maya. El primero corresponde al glifo del gobernante Ah Cacau de Tikal y que la llevo a su maximo esplendor aproximadamente en el ano 600 despues de Cristo, el segundo corresponde a la deidad K, conocida tambien como Caan Chac y que se encuentra muy frecuentemente al lado de los simbolos de Ah Cacau, queriendo así dejar establecido su origen divino, y el tercero corresponde al glifo emblema de la ciudad de Tikal.
